TestHub Link Management

A TestHubLink is the in-vehicle device that connects a car to TestHub. Once a TestHubLink is paired with a car, that car gains live telemetry: current position, trip history, live status, and diagnostics.

The TestHub Link Management admin area is where you register TestHubLink devices, pair or unpair them with cars, and keep an eye on how each device is syncing.

Pairing links a physical TestHubLink device to a specific car so the car starts receiving live data.

  1. Open Admin → TestHub Links.
  2. Locate the TestHubLink device you want to assign, or the car you want to equip.
  3. Choose Pair and select the target car from the list.
  4. Confirm the pairing.

Once paired, the car’s detail page begins showing data streamed from the device.

Each car can have one active TestHubLink at a time. To move a device to a different car, unpair it first, then pair it with the new car.

After a TestHubLink is paired, the following becomes available for the car:

  • Live position — the car’s current location on the map.
  • Trips — a record of journeys driven with the device installed.
  • Live status — real-time state reported by the device.
  • Diagnostics — vehicle diagnostic information read from the car.

Every TestHubLink shows a sync status so you can tell at a glance whether data is flowing:

StatusMeaning
IdleThe device is connected and up to date; nothing is transferring right now.
SyncingThe device is actively exchanging data with TestHub.
ErrorThe last sync attempt failed. Check the device and the car’s connection.

Alongside the sync status, the admin area lets you monitor the live device status so you can confirm a TestHubLink is online and reporting as expected.

Auto-sync controls whether a car’s TestHubLink data updates automatically in the background.

  • Auto-sync is toggled per car.
  • When on, telemetry, trips, and diagnostics refresh automatically without manual intervention.
  • When off, the device stops syncing automatically for that car until you turn it back on.

Turn auto-sync off for a car that is temporarily out of service or when you want to pause data collection, and turn it back on to resume live updates.

  • Status shows Error — verify the TestHubLink is powered and installed in the car, then wait for the next sync attempt.
  • No live data after pairing — confirm auto-sync is enabled for that car and that the device is reporting an online live status.
  • Data belongs to the wrong car — unpair the TestHubLink and pair it with the correct car.
