Labels

Labels are department-scoped tags with a name, color, and optional description. They help highlight testbenches in cards and detail pages and can be used as filters in the Cars & Testbenches list.

  • View: anyone with testbench.read for the department will see labels on cards, detail, and filters.
  • Manage: testbench.update in the department is required to create, edit, delete, or assign labels.
  • Uniqueness: label names are unique per department; colors accept hex format #RRGGBB.
  1. Open Admin → Labels (requires testbench.update in that department).
  2. Pick a department you can manage; existing labels show with usage counts.
  3. Create / Edit fields:
    • Name (1–50 chars, unique in department)
    • Color (#RRGGBB)
    • Description (optional, up to 200 chars)
  4. Delete removes the label and unassigns it from all testbenches in that department.
  • Go to the testbench General tab and use the Labels multiselect.
  • Requires testbench.update; otherwise, labels render as read-only badges.
  • Changes are saved together with other General tab edits; assignments are department-bound.
  • Cards & detail: labels render as colored badges with optional tooltips (description).
  • List filters: open Filters → Labels to filter testbenches by one or more labels; a search field narrows long lists.
  • Label chips also appear in the left info panel for quick context.
  • Changing a testbench’s department automatically removes its existing labels (they cannot cross departments). The department change dialog warns when labels will be dropped and logs the removal in activity history.
