Labels
Overview
Section titled “Overview”Labels are department-scoped tags with a name, color, and optional description. They help highlight testbenches in cards and detail pages and can be used as filters in the Cars & Testbenches list.
Permissions and scope
Section titled “Permissions and scope”- View: anyone with
testbench.readfor the department will see labels on cards, detail, and filters. - Manage:
testbench.updatein the department is required to create, edit, delete, or assign labels. - Uniqueness: label names are unique per department; colors accept hex format
#RRGGBB.
Manage labels in Admin
Section titled “Manage labels in Admin”- Open Admin → Labels (requires
testbench.updatein that department). - Pick a department you can manage; existing labels show with usage counts.
- Create / Edit fields:
- Name (1–50 chars, unique in department)
- Color (#RRGGBB)
- Description (optional, up to 200 chars)
- Delete removes the label and unassigns it from all testbenches in that department.
Assign labels on a testbench
Section titled “Assign labels on a testbench”- Go to the testbench General tab and use the Labels multiselect.
- Requires
testbench.update; otherwise, labels render as read-only badges. - Changes are saved together with other General tab edits; assignments are department-bound.
Filtering and display
Section titled “Filtering and display”- Cards & detail: labels render as colored badges with optional tooltips (description).
- List filters: open Filters → Labels to filter testbenches by one or more labels; a search field narrows long lists.
- Label chips also appear in the left info panel for quick context.
Department changes
Section titled “Department changes”- Changing a testbench’s department automatically removes its existing labels (they cannot cross departments). The department change dialog warns when labels will be dropped and logs the removal in activity history.
