Permissions
Access to testbench features is controlled by a permission system that determines what actions you can perform.
Role-Based Access
Section titled “Role-Based Access”Permissions are assigned through roles:
- Different roles have different sets of permissions
- Your assigned roles determine what you can do
- Roles may be department-specific, giving you different permissions in different departments
Common Role Permissions
Section titled “Common Role Permissions”Typical permission patterns include:
- Viewers: Can view testbenches but not modify them
- Testers: Can view and book testbenches, but not edit their details
- Managers: Can view, book, and edit testbench information
- Administrators: Have full control, including deletion and user management
Permission Indicators
Section titled “Permission Indicators”The interface provides subtle indicators of your permissions:
- Edit buttons only appear if you have update permissions
- Booking controls only appear if you have reservation permissions
- Forms remain read-only without appropriate edit permissions
Department-Specific Access
Section titled “Department-Specific Access”Permissions are often tied to departments:
- You may have different permissions in different departments
- Access is typically limited to testbenches in your assigned departments
- Cross-department access requires special permission assignments
Requesting Additional Access
Section titled “Requesting Additional Access”If you need additional permissions:
- Identify what specific actions you need to perform
- Contact your department administrator
- Submit a formal request through the system if required
Permissions are carefully managed to ensure appropriate access while maintaining system security and data integrity.
